The GameTank is an 8-bit game console based on the W65C02S, a 6502-family CPU from Western Design Center. It has a 128×100 pixel display with 200 unique colors, two controller ports on the front, a general purpose IO header on the back, and a 36-pin cartridge port on top.

Gamepad Ports The front gamepad ports can be read at $2008 and $2009. Writing to these addresses will not do anything. A byte read from one of these locations will return 6 binary button states from the respective controller. Consecutive reads to the same port will toggle the “select” line on the controller port, causing the controller to change which six button states are being returned.

Audio CoProcessor The GameTank's audio system, referred to as the Audio Coprocessor or ACP, is a 65C02-based subcomputer that computes PCM samples and outputs them to a digital-to-analog-converter. The ACP consists of a 65C02 processor, a 4K dual-ported RAM that is shared with the main system's memory map, a programmable timer that triggers the 65C02's IRQ at regular intervals, an 8-bit DAC, and a buffer register.

Putting code into the PROGx banks To get more room for code, you can create a number of extra “PROG” banks as declared in project.json. Once you've created those banks, you'll need to mark your functions and variables to indicate when they live in a non-default bank.
